The book, and a practical place to begin
The Intelligent Ecosystem connects the larger question about intelligent life with tools for examining decisions today.
A broader question
The Intelligent Ecosystem: Life and Society in a Superintelligent Era asks how growing intelligence can improve the conditions of life. Its subject includes the people, AI systems, institutions, resources, and living systems that make knowledge and action possible.
The book is available in paperback and Kindle editions. Its twenty chapters include eight figures and nine practical worksheets, alongside notes, an annotated bibliography, and a glossary.
A practical place to begin
The free reader starter invites you to examine one promised benefit: who it is for, what it depends on, what evidence matters, and who can respond if it goes wrong. Its flood-warning example is fictional and illustrates a way of asking questions.
How the Foundation site has developed
The current framework follows the book’s three overlapping lenses: better understanding, stronger capabilities, and better conditions of life. It keeps those judgments distinct. Earlier illustrative scores and health tiers have been removed from the current approach. Assessment and evidence-record ideas remain proposals to develop and test.
Earlier publications and updates remain accessible as dated work. They document the evolution of the idea rather than proving that proposed programs, review bodies, or certification services are operating.
